Chapter 2 Elevator Bug

Hello all,

I've seen this mentioned in a few other threads but nothing dedicated to it.

In chapter 2 there is a long elevator connecting to sections early in, however there seems to be a bug where it will go to the top of the shaft, then save your game and quit you'll start a new session in the hub which is at the bottom of the elevator.

Trying to use the elevator at this point causes it to no longer function and it is stuck in the top position.

Effectively this functions as a softlock and your progression is done at that point since there's not other way to get to the top.

If event triggers help, the last thing I did was pick up the freezing scroll and rusted (not positive on the name) key.

I'd like to know if anyone's found a way around this, hopefully Dev is looking at.

In spite of all the jankiness, I'm otherwise enjoying the game thus far.

Christian has a potential fix for this in a patch which is waiting on Fulqrum's approval.

"Fix elevators getting into a state where they will no longer work on loading a saved profile"

I do not know when they will evaluate the patch.

I had honestly abandoned all hope of this getting fixed, slapped a negative review on the game and moved on.

If nothing else, thank you for confirming this is being looked into Scar3crow. I'd love to get back and finish this one out at some point.

There’s probably not going to be another patch, as this has been an issue since March. My work around for this is to manually save the save folders/files to my desktop and finish this area until you can open the churches front door, which will allow you to access back to this area even if the elevator is stuck.

It's so sad that such a good game is so full of bugs. This game reminds me of my old gaming days in the 2000s. So really great. But it's impossible to finish it :(

This is a little untrue. I went through it completely. having played it completely from the very beginning. The main thing is when you get to the library, you will go up to the second floor to break a window and throw down a ladder on the balcony, that is, open a shortcut. After I opened the shortcut in the library, going all the way to the very end, I no longer encountered critical bugs. After passing, teleportation stones will open, they will look like flags. to complete those missions that you have not completed on a particular map. Go ahead, my friend, you can. Tell me what I should watch out for so that the game doesn't block me in some place.

Can’t really answer since the bugs will happen randomly with each patch claiming to fix but doesn’t. The game like phantom fury is just another wasted potential from slipgate.
