Steam Remote Play - No Mouse or Keyboard Inputs

I have had the game since Dec 2021 and I don't recall it ever having been an issue in the past but when I try to use Steam Remote Play from my laptop to my home machine, the mouse appears in the top left and will take no input responses. The same is true of the keyboard. This is the only game I have had an issue with and one I sincerely want to play.

The Mouse/keyboard is USB and I do not have any PS2 ports any more to test with. I have tried it on the same network and same subnet and remote.

I downloaded a copy of steam link and it had the same result. I'm not sure what else to try. I have tried two different PCs as well which have very different hardware. Any suggestions would be helpful.
