Using polish/abbrasive

yes yes I know im probably missing something super obvious but I cant seem to figure out how to "drag" polish on my weapon or tool. I have tried every combo of weapon level, tool type, armor...

in my personal inventory i drag and drop the polish on the item and it swaps, i drag and drop the item on the polish and it swaps.

If i drag and drop the polish on the item on my tool bar it does nothing. If i right click the polish it just gives me the drop option.

What do?

i have iron tools and i can't use the upgrade that says for level 40-49 tools maybe you can only use the abrasives

you have different polish types for different level gear + different types for different gear, i would guess u are either trying to polish a wrong level, or using a gear polish on a weapon. Something like that is your issue, read the tool tips to check level of gear and if it is a defence or weapon polish.

Pick up the polish in inventory and any weapons or armor that it will work on will highlight if weapon or armor is also in inventory. Then drag polish onto weapon or armor

look at you weapon blueprint tab and armor one the items listed on weapon page go on weapons of same tier as them and same for armor. The only things ive found for tools is the abrasives you make out of your inventory

alright ill give it another go, like i mentioned i tried a variety of different types of weapons, tools with varying levels with some abrasives and polish- i feel like the odds would be low that there wouldnt be one circumstance that matched, but thats most likely the case
