Hey im thinking of buying the game but heard you can only recruit like 5 soldiers max is this true?

Hi i've been thinking of buying the game since i enjoy games like mount and blade and conqueror blade but i read somewhere that this gave only allows you to recruit a tiny amount of people and is not large scale is this true? what is the maximum amount of soldiers you can have?

Yup, you cant have big army on official servers, on own server/singleplayer it is possible to change limits.

With the command skill at lvl 900 you can have a maximum of 10 warriors in total, then there is a limit to how many warriors you can have deployed to fight with you, it starts with 1 and at lvl 900 command there is a maximum of 3 warriors deployed at same time. Then there's a new feature = Decorative Warriors[they never work/fight just for decoration] and I think that's a 20 limit at lvl 900 command.

This is the official setting on official servers, I don't recommend playing on them bcs of griefers and constant lags, Its better to find a good private server, they may have different limits/rates and active admins, or your own server.

how big are player servers? i see officals having 200 players

Personally I cant find anyone playing unless you play the official ones over run with china cheating players that destroy everything in sight

You can have up to 9 NPC , up to 3 follow you into battles, you can make retainers which are decorations., you can have lots of retainer npc that can dance in the corner or serve drinks at a bar, some modders are working on more npc to follow in to battles soon

Honestly its better to play on a custom with mates or find a good custom with plenty of players due to Myth Of Empires being more pay to win on official, you can use real money to buy in game stuff, from constructions, to animals, to gear and so forth.. Don't get me wrong I love the game as there's nothing quite like it but if you join an official server just know you will be vsing against players who can pay to get stuff that may take you days to get under 5 mins by card
