Basic Mining Hut not working

New to the game. I used the prospecting shovel and it said I had a common amount of copper in the area so I made a shaft and put a basic mining hut on it. Then set my worker on it with food inside. It's been around 30 minutes and he hasn't produced anything yet. Am I doing something wrong or does it only make ore incrementally?

Is the selected ore dense? At least there should be garbage like stones if he's actually working (animation instead of just standing still). If standing still, you place food in the wrong inventory slots.

Anyway, there won't be "a lot" of ores until 24 hours later or so... More time pass, mining skill goes up, more ores.

He’s doing the animation and eating his food. The ore just says common. There aren’t any stones or anything being produced.

Since it's not dense, you have to wait a while.

we have two set up currently working if your playing pvp official and want to group up we somewhat are still in the early progressive stage theirs just 2 of us but we have 2 dense mines going and i just set them to start farming iron

It's not a "30 minutes" device. It's a "come back tomorrow" device. Takes hours to bring in enough to bother picking up. Still very useful because it works overnight.
