You obviously have no idea what P2W means. If I play for 3 months without spending real money and you played for a week but swipe your card left and right and beat me because you could buy every book/scroll's/tips, then it's P2W
actually that is the very definition of Pay to Progress not Pay to Win! You can do reach the same things on your own withotu moeny by just trainign ahrder and longer.
The only reason why I would argue that it is P2W is, that you can instantly claim, defend and block the core spots such as level 3 collection points, brimstone and meteoric mines and as such lock out others from the server to actually get the good stuff. Especially with only 2 brimstone mines on the new map.
Apply to everything, even single player pve games. Worst case, is the deliberate implementation of game mechanics that incentivize people to overcome this self created problem. Too hard, too grindy, not enough time, I'm too rich, need to look good as a streamer, etc.
Gaslit much? lol.
Wars are won and fought on supply and whoever pumps out the best kit in the shortest amount of time can project the most force and takeover any server in no time. Your best bet to enjoying this game is finding a community server and playing in an environment where fair play is encouraged. If you want to spend money donate to your admins server box costs and avoid the headache of public lobbies.
If you beat me because you can instantly buy your proficiencies it is p2w. Easy as that
This dude hasn't realized yet that this game is heavily PvP focused and the P2W being able to swipe your card until you hit max proficiencies in a day vs someone who never spend money but weeks or months of playtime to get the same
That said, I don't think the proficiency thing is p2w unless you only play an hour per day or something. In order to use it efficiently, you'd need to earn more idle xp than you can use. I bought gold. I could cash in my idle xp. But why would I? I get all those points anyway, by playing.
If I went on vacation for 2 weeks or whatever and started capping out on idle xp then it would make sense to throw money at it in order to not lose those points.
I could see spending money to level an alt, but honestly don't see the use in that either. NPCs already do what you'd want an alt for.
I see it being useful only if you play so little that you can't spend all your idle xp. I play probably 4 hours a night pretty consistently and can't max my idle points anyway. Swiping to convert them just means I'm now playing the game with no idle xp to spend during my normal hours.
