Yeah, but too bad you can only do that when you reach level 60.

Pay 2 get a head, p2w is when you pay money and you get something that helps you actually win. Like a weapon better then any weapon you can make in game or like a premim ammo or potion that gives you an unfair advantage. I swear some you never seen real p2w and it shows. I mean at min would have to be pay money and don't drop gear on death, or pay money and your peons instant respawn or something like that. Pay to grind less but only at 60 is not p2w sigh...

You obviously have no idea what P2W means. If I play for 3 months without spending real money and you played for a week but swipe your card left and right and beat me because you could buy every book/scroll's/tips, then it's P2W

actually that is the very definition of Pay to Progress not Pay to Win! You can do reach the same things on your own withotu moeny by just trainign ahrder and longer.

The only reason why I would argue that it is P2W is, that you can instantly claim, defend and block the core spots such as level 3 collection points, brimstone and meteoric mines and as such lock out others from the server to actually get the good stuff. Especially with only 2 brimstone mines on the new map.

yea but there are brimstone nodes you can hit. Sure it takes longer but the mines are not needed

Pay for convenience , pay for progress and whatever is just cope. ALL falls into the category of pay to win in the absence of cheats or "enablers" provided by the developer.

Apply to everything, even single player pve games. Worst case, is the deliberate implementation of game mechanics that incentivize people to overcome this self created problem. Too hard, too grindy, not enough time, I'm too rich, need to look good as a streamer, etc.

Gaslit much? lol.

Pay to progress is a marketing term coined for games that are pve only. If I out progress you in pvp then kill you with gear you could not obtain in an equal amount of time and take all your stuff that's called pay to win. In asymmetrical warfare survival games progression is just as strong as any weapon you could outright buy. You may not like this or may not agree with it because your on a pve realm but it's 100 percent correct.

Wars are won and fought on supply and whoever pumps out the best kit in the shortest amount of time can project the most force and takeover any server in no time. Your best bet to enjoying this game is finding a community server and playing in an environment where fair play is encouraged. If you want to spend money donate to your admins server box costs and avoid the headache of public lobbies.

If you beat me because you can instantly buy your proficiencies it is p2w. Easy as that

How does one "win" an open world, full loot pvp game? It has no storyline. There is no end of the game. There are the "end-game" battles for territory control and you aren't going to be able to spend enough money to "win" control of ALL of the territories. Sure you might be able to add a few proficiency points AFTER you've spent 3 weeks grinding out lvl 60 but you aren't going to be able to "win" anything other than a few open world battles. You can't pay enough to soak 50,000 arrows coming at you from a fully fortified base with towers.

This dude hasn't realized yet that this game is heavily PvP focused and the P2W being able to swipe your card until you hit max proficiencies in a day vs someone who never spend money but weeks or months of playtime to get the same

Win pvp fights. Wipe your enemy's bases. If paying helps you do these things then it's pay to win.

That said, I don't think the proficiency thing is p2w unless you only play an hour per day or something. In order to use it efficiently, you'd need to earn more idle xp than you can use. I bought gold. I could cash in my idle xp. But why would I? I get all those points anyway, by playing.

If I went on vacation for 2 weeks or whatever and started capping out on idle xp then it would make sense to throw money at it in order to not lose those points.

I could see spending money to level an alt, but honestly don't see the use in that either. NPCs already do what you'd want an alt for.

Unless I missed something, that's not what they did. You can convert idle xp to points, but that's not going to max you "in a day", or even a week, or even put you ahead of someone who uses up their idle xp daily anyway.

I see it being useful only if you play so little that you can't spend all your idle xp. I play probably 4 hours a night pretty consistently and can't max my idle points anyway. Swiping to convert them just means I'm now playing the game with no idle xp to spend during my normal hours.

My initial response was to the guy saying that things in this game is pay to progress. And my response to that is that everything in this game is P2W. You can buy scrolls/tips/books until you hit max lvl and that is as P2W as anything can get
