Good base?

So anyone have any good ideas where to set up a base on the new map?

A mid-term goal would be relatively close to iron nodes / mines which can be found west of the small lake with the river running down south to the sea.

Mobs and NPCs there are lvl 20-30 though so it is a bit harsh for a character below lvl 20 (quite a lot of wolves there, I even saw a bear).

In case you cannot take down wolves conveniently yet I suggest to farm enough hide from rabbits and foxes or catch some of those for rabbit / fox pens so that you generate hide passively without the need to hunt larger prey or run to the Eastern spawns.

Having a river or lake nearby helps with clay, fish and grass / reed. Good luck :)
