Old or new map for a beginner?

So if you start new, what would profi player recommend? Play the new or the old map?

And what are the differences? Better graohic on new map? Old map greater or new map? And so on. Thanks to decide.

i am trying the new map looks a lot better and has the weather and different bios

new map has new animals, different graphic options, more bugs
like animals disappearing in front of you
and its not so interesting for my liking

THIS! I spent three hours in the old map just looking for copper and never found a node. Loaded up the new map and found it within ten minutes of loading in.

I think new maps way better, easier to find stuff all over, you still have to go west for end game content, but old map I feel you really have to stay west for any mid-late game content, the new one gives you lots of harder materials even in easier areas to find.
