combat is very heavy on directional combat but interesting as well
Taming - you can take horse, rhino and elephant as mounts and you'll have pens for wolfs, rabbit, deer, fox, bear etc. If I remember correctly you can't have animals to fight by your side.
Gameplayloop depends on if you're planning on playing pve or pvp ofc. I myself played pve and it is similar to any other survival game, especially conan exiles. I set up as a goal to raid the stronghold in my first playthrough.
Playing on official servers means 1x rates and that can be tedious if you're planning on playing solo as you'll find yourself grinding a lot. However, you can play on any of the many dedicated servers with increased rates or just host your own. :)
is there a 1st person option in the game and if yes then does it have any actual use, like with ranged weapons?
I haven't tried the 1.0 version because I'm at work until tomorrow but I can't remember it being possible to play in 1st person before.
I think V or B does 1st person since I accidently did it, but I don't use it so can't say how good/bad it was.
I play in first person as much as possible (really wish they would let me when mounted) and it is great. I have yet to experience any issues with it. Aiming and attacking is pretty much identical to third person except for not having an over the shoulder perspective. Archery hits fairly reliably once you get the hang of how using a bow works.
- can I tame bears and wolves? Yes.
- how is the gameplay loop? as in, what will I be doing for the majority of the game? Resource gathering, combat, building.
Also, how stable are the servers? oh and how active? performance is smooth, but the ping is questionable.
