Basic Wood/Gravel/Grain Pile - new stuff, and no info how to use them

Basic Wood Pile, Basic Gravel Pile, Basic Grain Pile - these can be found under 'Talent & Skill' => Building, but the only info is that "Can build". Where and how? Related to Collects?

It would appear that they are related to the "collection" points on the map (they look like a wagon) you clear the elite NPC's out and should be able to build.

For us we have gotten to this point and are stuck with it saying we cant build it at this time. not really sure how to fix that though.

I unlocked skill yesterday, put wood pile into my yard and placed thrall into pile. Added food and left it for night. There is hardwood, branches, resin and bark this morning in bench - it slowly generates resources during hours your thrall spends in it "working".

As forpusmo discovered, the basic resource piles are passive resource generators, like the mining hut but without the dowsing rod mini-game.

The collection points are what you put Guild Mine/Farm e.t.c. on after clearing them of enemies.

what talent is needed? each time I try to place this it says its blocked or I am lacking a skill or talent to place it?

You also have to unlock them in the building tree.

Whole stone, stone, rubble, clay, sand, kaolin clay. You don't get to pick. Just gives you some of each.
