Dedicated private servers ?

hi, my friend reccommened to this game but before I buy it I just want to know a couple of questions.

1. you can create servers, are they servers that stay online even if the person who created that server is offline? ( In other words dedicated servers)

2. If currently there is not dedicated server will there be in the future ? I have a dedicated box than I host Dayz server and in the past Rust server and I would like to be able to start a dedicated server for this game if that would be at all possible currently or in the future

In order to have open all the possibilities that the game offers, I recommend using a cluster server with a set mysql database.

i have a dedicated server you can use if you want, but as Spidees said a cluster server would be best.. unfortunetly from what i can see no hosts like Nitrado offer cluster options for some reason which sucks.. but if you dont mind missing out on a few things *I.e territory fights etc* then its the same as any normal server from what i can see

I run server with multiple districts both PvP and PvE, I've run server for this game for over a year from previous version ran until now (of course first wipe with 1.0 version). You can find this server in big world by filter PLAYHUB.CZ

If you rent a server from Gportal, Nitrado, etc., you will never have the same options as on a cluster server. These servers are limited, trade, alliance, prefecture, etc. do not work.

yeah i have my own dedicated server, I am not using a game host . so how and where do we get server files to setup a dedicated server and is there a guide to set server up

Here's my simple answer and guide.

Goto: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Myth of Empires\PrivateServerTool

Run the PrivateServerTool and choose your settings.
once that's done, run the StartPrivateServer bat once you run it give it about 2 minutes for the game to "see it" click on Custom Sever and search for your server, then mark it as favorite.

You can run it from inside your network, on the same computer you're playing or on a different computer within your network. If you want to run the server on another comp on your network change the remote management IP like (192.168.1.##) if you leave it on 127.0.0.1 it will run on the same computer you playing on. (don't change the game port or query port). if you want friends to connect you'll have to open those ports on your router ports. If you don't open the ports it won't be seen outside your network.

Keep in mind that If you run the server on a different computer you will also have to copy over the \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Myth of Empires\WindowsPrivateServer directory.

If and when MOE does a Steam update you will have to "re-copy" the \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Myth of Empires\WindowsPrivateServer since they might have also updated the server files.

Even though I play solo I have a dedicated since my NPC volunteers will work while I'm away until I shut down the server.

I set it to auto save every 15 minutes, but when I'm ready to quit the game, I open the game console with the Tilde (~) key and type Cheat SaveWorld it will save you game and then I CTRL-C in the server window to shutdown the server.

It's also a good idea to goto SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Myth of Empires\WindowsPrivateServer\MOE\Saved and copy your SaveGames into a different directory with a date like 2024-03-05MOE as a backup. you can then use that to restore your game if something "bad" happens.

Servers goal - We aim for a longterm active PvE server where we can work together or enjoy the game solo, the server is set up in a way where you can leave the game and go to work without having to worry about your warriors/tames starving or your crops wither away. It's a relaxed enviroment for all the adults or teenagers who just wanna play the game at their own pace.
Server location - Sweden
Server is privately owned, not rented
Server hardware - Private machine with top performance, power cut protected, natural cooling system and 500/500 fiber optic connection
Map - Eastern island (new map)
Mode - PvE
Gathering - 2x
Tames and recruits - All settings set to low consumption
Other settings - Mostly default

Server rules
1. Respect other people playing
2. Do not interfere with other players bases; as in - do not build next to them or harass them in any other way
3. Play seriously, we aim for an immersive world with cool bases. You can ofc live in a box though!

Server up-time
I am available most hours during the day/night, I have remote access to the server via my phone. You can message me in server status if the server is down/needs an update or whatever it might be
