cannot find private servers

just as it says - when i click on custom server, there is nothing there - even though I have an IP to a server i cannot put it in anywhere - any thoughts on why?

They had some trouble a lawsuit over stolen code and took the servers offline for NA players, so we have to use a VPN to see the private server list until February when it rereleases. Its annoying but pretty simple to do, install a free VPN program like ProtonVPN (there are free tiers), quick connect and load up the custom server list. Disable the VPN and join the server you want from the list. If you leave the VPN on you will have an awful connection

The access for NA has been back since 2-11-2023. Since then VPN's to access official servers from NA are no longer required. VPN's by their nature have a detrimental impact on your throughput levels, so are not advisable unless necessary for a specific need.
VPN usage should not affect the Custom Server search either. In particular because it shows a mix of every region i.e. no Asia/EU/NA seperation, but every broadcasting custom server

VPN was a hammer that solved a particular problem, but not every problem is a nail.

Something silly, you may have to press 'Refresh' to trigger a search for custom servers.
A Router may also be blocking the necessary ports (sorry, dunno which by heart).
The best place to get technical support for connection issues is not the Steam forums but the game's Discord server. https://discord.com/invite/SU9rR7pKEU

ive hit refresh multiple time, left it sitting for 30 minutes, even added the game folder exempt for my bitdefender app - it worked once before when it first came out, but i get nothing now sadly :( I will join their discord, thanks!

He also stated custom servers not official, which a VPN is still needed for. If youre using it solely to get the server list then disabling it when connecting it wont have any impact on throughput. Its not a routing issue, the developers blocks NA connections on private servers. This is very obvious from the countless threads posted recently all describing this

Correct - i see official , im looking for custom , which wont show anything but i saw online a handful of custom servers - i did play before the lawsuit, but stop when friends couldnt buy it when it was shut down - seems ill just have to wait till FEB!!

Yes a free VPN as I stated above solves this, no need to wait until February although the game will hopefully be more playable at that point.

For now the server list is IP banning still sigh think they would unban it but no they haven't. You got use vpn, the disconnec from VPN once in the server to fix you ping

You can play public now and private its all up to them if they hard wipe or not. I hope public wipes on launch though

Official servers can be seen again without a VPN from North America

For whatever reason custom/private servers require a VPN to be running when you start the game in order to be able to see them
