its called : Farmland
A lot of them are on the Map ( most of the time with 4-5 Vagrants which patrol on it )

badnesso: Dont know about the NPC thing ( own currently only 1 Warrior ).
But you can place Crops on the Fields.

since you know little about the game would it be too much to ask if you could go little more in detail about the NPC's and thank you for getting back to me on this :).

if your able to answer them or some would really appreciate it thanks <3

I'd like to know how deep does the NPC's go such as could you have them follow you in the world have them fight other NPC'S or players like say conquers blade style?.

And could you buy or hire NPC's to be gaurds in your town / city / building you built to gaurd and defend?.

Could you change out the weapons and armour on your NPC's?.

Could your NPC's make you gold awhile your offline whatever they do farming or fighting gathering that kind of thing? i think final fantasy might have something like this send your npc's out to gather resources or something i can't remember to be honest :).

Yes npc's have a follow and a follow range you can set, you can set which targets you want them to attack. From what i've seen only 1 type at a time, animal, warrior, player etc

you can hire them from campfires or working in the fields and it cost 30 raw meat for the ones at the fires. You can set them up to defend your base, work on "some" workbenches or patrol an area for you.

you can give them weapons and armor but you can not repair theirs that they start with for some reason.

Have not seen any way to send them out to harvest resources or make gold. You can have them help you to attack bandit villages or camps but not on their own as the bandits have elite mobs that will kill you npc's. From what i have read in local chat on pve server the npc's also can not swim across lakes so pick the patrol path carefully.

FYI update on this old post. Placing an NPC on the well water the nearby area. Placing an NPC on a farm he will till the soil and plant crops if you place seeds in the chest. You need to capture the farm by unlocking it in skills and building at the shed via putting resources in the shed inventory.
