The reason why MOE removed from steam RUMOR from china
News from China Forum:
Steam temporary removed the game due to the game reported by Conqueror Blade Company 网易 claiming that the game is Copying their game.
The game will removed from steam until the MOE dev settle lawsuit from 网易
------------------
after 7/12 updated by Angela Game, this turn out to be true. But who is behind all this? If really CB Netease, then i feel so sad for china small develpers.

I have played Conquerors Blade much in the past, commanding large groups of players to attack/defend castles/farmlands.

MOE and Conquerors Blade are both good, but totally different games. That Copyright claim is strange.

Searching around the Internet it does seem that quite a few consider the two games to be in competition with each other. Not having played CB or really played MoT I cannot say for myself.

But the way it was removed from the Steam store does raise questions. It is even a mystery on Reddit as to why it was pulled in this fashion. And Facebook plus Twitter tells us no more then what we have here.

Searching around the Internet I cannot find anything to back up the rumor mentioned by the OP, yet.

But translating the Chinese threads, I found this post:

Weibo said it was reported by NetEase, saying that he copied the war intent
https://forum.mythofempires.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=633&highlight=steam

Digging around, I found that NetEase are the Chinese game publisher that seems to deal with Conquerors Blade in China.

And CB was developed by https://www.boomingtech.com/client/products

yes~ this is it. Thats why i said is rumor. Quite reliable because i know china gaming industrial style enough. They use this kind of tricks to attack their challengers. Although the copy claim will fail, but at least reduce the population of the game.

Yes. This is totally false claim, but This is just a trick to attack their challengers. Tencent and Net ease always do that.

I know the Steam forum can be hyperbolic over things but this does sound reasonable, considering the little we are being told.

I mean it works because of Steams kneejerk policy towards allegations, my guild leader cant donate towards county battle because the game needs to update which he cannot do since steam has cut all support for the game. So entire guild just made dozens of black iron gear for nothing i guess since everyone will have meteor gear after this week.

But think how bad ass you'll all be when everyone else finally gets to buy/play the game

Seems, based on various forums that NetEase is considered a pretty bad game publisher from the gamer point of view. They predominately do business in China and seem to have made their name with mobile games.

The indication is that most Chinese players think they make western publishers like EA look akin to something like a choir boy. The general feelings expressed was that they are in it just for the money and have a history of playing dirty with customers and other publishers.

Most likely wrong but my gut feeling is that this could drag out a lot longer then we are hoping for, if Netease are behind it.

I am not surprised, Netease is a shady publisher.

I played come of Conquers Blade and the 2 are NOTHING alike.

The weird thing is a number of YouTube reviewers compare them and call MoW a possible CB killer.

I have no idea about that but it seems some think that way and maybe NetEase got worried.
