If you are planning on selling to a niche audience and don't mind about profit, then yes, stick to your vision. But don't blame anybody if your game does not sell that well.
This reminds me of the game BPM and Perception. They have this certain artistic vision that turned of a lot of players. To me this types of art styles makes me somewhat dizzy.
Also reminds me of WandaVision. We really hated that Black and White bit in the beginning and bored me and my family members to sleep. Once they added color, it got really interesting.
Yep, you get it. Nice man.
I'm not going to sugar coat anything, it simply sucks and it's boring. It's blocky and clunky. It's the opposite of fluid and natural. Everyone is fully aware now why the game is 14 bucks. No color, no blood being red, horrific combat system. This is why I have Xbox pass, so I can try games out before purchasing them. If you don't have Xbox pass, I seriously have no idea what tf you're doing.
*Color. That's how the word is spelled.
Also, who tf cares about samurai movies that were made in 1950? There are SO MANY better samurai movies than the ones made in 1950 lol.
Just going to KEEP WAITING FOR GHOST OF TSUSHIMA.
This is the game they wanted to make, and it's not going to please everyone.
Exactly. If they don't care to make more money, I don't care to convince them how. They can keep their "Vision" all they want. Hopefully that "Vision" pays the mortgage and all other bills.
Nobody cares about your vision. You shouldn't even care about your vision, you should care about making money so you can support your lifestyle and family. You cannot pay bills with "Vision."
I'm telling you in the year 2022 people have seriously lost it.
Don't waste your time, these few people are missing the point and/or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about a purposeful and desired visual design related to making a tribute to those samurai films of the '50s. They can't get that, I do and I'm not even a fan or watch samurai movies.
Then how exactly did you find yourself here, and posting in the forums? That makes absolutely no sense. That's like me finding no interest in Ford cars, but going down to the dealership and telling everyone I understand and support people buying Ford cars. Who does that ♥♥♥♥?
Indie games are what has saved gaming for people like us, they're willing to think outside the box and take risks that AAA companies would never try, not when they can crank out Call of Duty 27, Far Cry 19, FIFA whatever in order to keep making the investors happy.
I fully encourage indie devs to follow their vision. I might not like it, but I don't have to buy it.
And you still can't get the original point... Like I said, wasted time. It was already proven that you're crying for something that is out of the question due to how the devs plan and wanted the game to look like.
Who exactly are you replying or talking to?
As long as that Space theme has color. If it's still black or White or Sepia colored, then niche audience will find it appealing.
Just Imagine if Ghost of Tsushima is Black and White only. I don't think it would have sold that well. But people probably suggested to have a Black and White option, so they made one for those niche audience. People are not angry that option is added.
Super weird when its switched. Fanboys gets mad if people wants an option for color.
Hope more devs listen like them.
I think we are just talking about art style here. Every single forum that has this type of art style will always have suggestion to make it look normal. They could easily have an option to have it on or off. Like those games that has a toggle to make it look retro and modern.
Plus it won't affect the people that love this art style. You already got it.
Instead it would help the game sell more copies for those people that don't like this type of style but interested in the game.
Also, you cant force those people to like a certain art style they will just leave a suggestion and hope they add those in the future. Options are good.
Exactly. If they don't care to make more money, I don't care to convince them how. They can keep their "Vision" all they want. Hopefully that "Vision" pays the mortgage and all other bills.

I've also stated it countless times, having the OPTION to toggle B/W or Color hurts and harms nobody and would only sell more copies. Again, if they don't care to make money, I simply do not care to give them advice on how.
This shouldn't even be a discussion on what "Vision" is better. This should be a discussion on WHY TF the OPTION simply isn't present.
Still waiting for Ghost of Tsushima to port over to PC.
You're labeling anyone who disagrees with you as angry fanboys, but have you seen the OP? The people who respect the artist's vision and can accept the game for what it is are not the ones who seem angry here. I'm sure they probably could colorize it, and I honestly don't care if they do give that option, but it would definitely cheapen the core aesthetic of the game.
I see it time and time again in Steam forums lately, somebody wants a different game than what they see and they come to the forums posting obvious troll posts stating things like "lazy devs!" or whatever. Dune: Spice Wars for example, one of the biggest upsets is that it's not a different game in a different genre from 20 years ago. "Well why can't they just add an option to makes this a different game for the people that want it?" Or Cyberpunk 2077 - Before people were blasting the game for all the faults it released with, people were losing their spleens over the fact that it was 1st person perspective and insisted it had to be 3rd person.
If every developer caved in and only did what would be the most profitable with the most amount of people, we would have boring games, cheap knockoffs, and nothing new. If developers caved and added every little demand that was made on the forums, even as an option, it would extend development times and costs.
This is the game they made. It's fine if people don't like it or find it unappealing, they don't have to play it, there are other games out there. I think it's reasonable for a dev to make a game without being bashed for not making something they didn't set out to do.
