Gameplay / Demo help please !

Hello,
I thought I would try the demo to see if I want the game? Can I ask if demo has been updated since release ? I use my wheel to turn and pedals shows as working, nothing else works ? just high revs unless I keep my foot on brake? and when I use the throttle peddles it show as working on top of the high revs, but will not move forward or back and I can not take break off ( unless in keyboard mode only ) ... is there a option for auto gears or only manual? or is all this to do with demo ? I would like to buy.. But if I cannot use my LG heavy equipment wheel and panel, There is no point buying it
