How do I join a server? (demo)

I played briefly a few weeks ago but couldnt play long cause of the time, went to just try and play and every time I try to join a server it says I have a version mismatch cause im on the demo, but the previous time I played the 1st server I joined worked.. and I cant find any "demo" specific servers now...so what gives?

Yeah afaik the demo and full game servers are separated, so you can't join a retail server with the demo and need a specific demo server. It could be there are none available, I imagine most people play a demo for an hour or two at the most so it makes sense there aren't many people playing online on the demo. I guess you could try hosting your own demo server and see if people join
