hmmm... only two things I can think of
Have you tried clicking the control input type to something like gamepad and then back to keyboard and mouse in options > controls > driving?
I don't see anything about mouse steering in the assists, and only a sensitivity entry in the basic config file.. I guess you could make a backup of your save and config folder ( X:\Users\You\AppData\Local\MotorTown ) and then after making a backup copy, deleting the files in X:\Users\You\AppData\Local\MotorTown\Saved\Config\Windows and then starting the game to see if it defaults back to fresh config control scheme.
But that's just me guessing.
