How to hook up trailer?

I just bought the FL1 and don't know how to hook up trailers, i've tried renting trailers and purchasing them from the trailer dealer, then reverse my FL1 into the hook but they don't attach? Is there a step I'm missing?

The FL1 is a semi truck.

You have to reverse into the trailer until the prompt comes up for you to press the interaction 1 button with the landing gear up. And for some reason there is at least one trailer type that seems to be bugged or requires a certain vehicle.

Thank you, I didn't get a prompt to press the interaction button which confused me, backing up the truck and hitting the button has worked.

I had the same issue, sometimes it can be a real PITA hooking them up.

Apologies for the necropost, but I was also having this problem and found a solution that worked for me.

I had adjusted some of the traction control settings in Options. After that, I noticed the "^+ Drive" and "^+ Interaction" icons stopped appearing when I looked at vehicle doors. Weird, but I got used to it. I didn't use a trailer with a semi for a *long* time so I didn't think about this change. Apparently I also lost the pop-up for "hook." Resetting traction control to default brought it back.
