clean out your PC case

You might have other programs running in the background. I have a similar problem with Enshrouded if Wallpaper Engine is running for example.

ive closed everything else and for some reason sometimes the game runs no problem. its only randomly that it will crash my pc like 3 times in a row. I dont have this problem with any other games which is why im pretty sure its specific to this game

On Windows 10 you can do Ctrl-Alt-Del and select task manager. It will tell you how much of your memory and cpu is getting used, and by what program. 99% of the time with me crashes are caused by memory leaks hogging all my memory.
i´d say it´s a overheating issue of your graphics card. I´ve had the same yesterday evening due to an badly installed 25G SFP+ NIC which blocked heat transfer.

My GPU Temps raised to 84°C and then the system crashed - at only 80 - 90% GPU Usage.
This only happens at this game which leads me to assume that all the phisics in this game are running on the gpu and that leads to a massive load on the compute cores

My solution was to reduce the resolution from 2160p to 1440p an relocating that NIC which got me better airflow. Now the gpu usage sits aroung 70 - 80% and temps are roundabout 78°C

I can only guess that this computer crash is hardware related issus. try stress test you pc to all component to see if it is stable at full load like cpu, gpu and ram. some "other" game did not crash your pc might due to lower load on hardware.

I used to have one specific game that will push every aspect of pc component and crash the computer in the past where it turned out to be a faulty motherboard :marten_sip:

i doubt its hardware related since other games run just fine even on ultra settings. its specifically this game that crashes my pc
Do you have any sort of overclock applied? If so, I would try without it

I dont have any sort of overclock although to be fair im starting to think it could be an issue with my 13th gen Intel CPU
i had the exact same problem when i played at epic or cinematic preset. hole pc freezes after 3-5 minutes. GPU and CPU temps are fine (never over 70).
9800x3d, rtx 3090.
all other games are fine.
the frezes stopped when i startet the game in directx11.
so it only appears on directx12 and on epic or cinematic preset
Btw on Linux the game runs fine for hours, even in direktx12 and cinematic preset. So i guess it is a driver Problem under Windows. Maybe a fresh Windows Installation would Help, but i'm to lazy for that at the Moment
