Does the tow truck work?
I seen the tow truck for sale, but I rented it and couldn't figure out how to get any jobs with it.

If you are having trouble with the tow truck here is the best way to get tows. I have a fully upgraded Tow Rig.. Engine, Turbo, Intake, and Trans. Once you do this look for a down hill path to drag the target car....hook the winch and take off towards the highway then once on the highway flip the car and keep the winch hooked along with the tow hook and take off...my Tow Rig can hit 110mph.

Tow Truck seems to burn through Fuel at a crazy rate. is this normal ?
It also has very bad traction ( drives better in reverse ) and just gets stuck on the smallest uphill grade. cant even pull away from the" rest stop " area without having to get a run up or reverse :) love the truck but it needs tuning :)
+1

I enjoyed my first rescue with a tow truck, I thought you would get a yellow route but you can find the vehicles to rescue on the map. Of course I tipped the cement truck over on a tight corner and took ages with the winch to right it but heh managed it in the end! I think a 4x4 upgrade option (so only if you own it) would make sense.

so I had one of the large busses spawned as a wreck with the rear end laying on the grown and the nose up into the air. the wrecker can eventually bring it down , but once its on its roof, it cant be flipped over as the wrecker is not able to put enough force on to the winch to flip it over, having increased winch loading and adding spades to the back of the wrecker to keep from sliding as much would make such a diffrence.

Okay I have done a lot more missions and well the recovery truck is unique and enjoyable but the fuel tank is tiny, I mean not even enough to do one rescue at times. I have the middle engine equipped but even so. Grip of road is terrible, I am yet to try improving the ride height which i will try next but its expensive 10k per wheel, in theory it should help offroad but its grip so I am not convinced.

As others have said there is no leverage so using one vehicle that is not heavy enough to flip vehicles that are heaving than it. You can use momentum on the road but I cannot get momentum off road. There is noway I can flip a greyhound bus equivalent with one truck, I get that maybe this is for mulitplayer which is fine just saying if so maybe the missions should be a different colour.

There are also a few normal roadside recoveries which are fine.

this is really boiling me atm, just as the damn cement mixer, how the hell do i turn them over without constantly flipping or running out of gas trying. almost 3km drinks half my tank...

Try using the winch on the pickup.

i do, but its the tow truck thats moving and not the vehicle(buses/cement mixer).
I put the hook on the most logical spot and even watching real life tow truckers on how they do(it was driving me nuts so i had to look it up)..

For the Tow Truck you need the maximum Engine, Intake, and Turbo...the main thing is getting the LSD the last one on the list to help with traction. Then hook your winch to the highest point on the over-turned vehicle from a good ways out.....back up get a running start to jerk the vehicle upright. This is the only way I have found.

did have the best engin, but it drinks too much and often end up without gas.
i tried the upper part to tilt, but talking to others the game made such you hook up on the lower part even tho they dont do that in reality.

they really need to do same changes like when mounting the vehicles that its 2 point lock instead of one center point. better traction for off road, atm its better reversing up the hill.

Yeah the fuel issue is kinda bad...the LSD does help with traction though.....They really need a heavy wrecker for the large recoveries. Even just throw the tow rig on the FL would work or the dumptruck chassis.

honestly though irl that would just snap the winch cable or break something on the truck. both of which could likely kill a person. its not a good method, having proper spades and a stronger winch moter, or having a better heavy frame, at least a 25ton frame would be what is needed.

Hmm I dont know whether it got easier in the patch I didnt see anything specific in the patch notes, I also raised the ride height on the truck to +10 all round and well I am getting better grip of road. Its still not good but better.

they havent done anything to the tow truck, there is mentions of something ahead. since the tow truck shouldn't tow heavy vehicles, so could be another tow truck being released late ron.
