Garbage Truck Parking Problems
I finally found a garbage truck ("Compacty") that I can drive so I can pick up trash around the towns, and it's paying well (would pay even better if I can find where to buy a garbage truck myself), but for the life of me, I can't get the truck to just stay put when I park it. I try to slow it down to 0 kph, often in Neutral gear (I don't drive in real life, for the record), and even on seemingly flat terrain, like a curb, it will often keep drifting forwards or backwards, especially on a slight incline. Am I doing anything wrong? Like I said, I don't drive in real life, so if there's some "true-to-life" thing I'm missing, you'll have to forgive me. I even make sure to turn on my hazard lights, you know, for the whole "role-play" thing!

After I was done making my rounds and dropped the trash off at the power plant, I returned to my car, and it parks just fine! Doesn't move at all when I get out. But for the garbage truck, it'll, at best, very slowly drift forward, or, at worst, steadily accelerate downhill until it hits something that stops it. That again: am I doing anything wrong? Am I missing something? Oh, and I play with a controller, if that makes any difference...

Check handbrake. In the real life and this game handbrake using to fix vehicles in place. Especially when parked on slopes.

Thanks! I'll give that a try.
If you set automatic gear shifting to neutral it won't stop
the vehicle, only release the gear that was set. "P" for
"Parking" is what sets the vehicle to hold.

It's the same with manual shifting. If you release the gear(s)
and don't use the handbrake, the car is able to move back
and / or forward because there is no resistance given to
prevent it of doing that.

So, use the handbrake and you're good to go. ;-)

Have fun and drive safe. :letsgo:
