Police patrols just suck.
Patrols were pretty bad to begin with, but with the addition of the new island they are just insanely bad now. 50 exp and 500 gold for a patrol from the far left side of the top island to the middle of the new island is just ridiculous. The same distance trucking job gets you like 2000 per unit and you can generally carry 15-20 units.

Police patrols are supposed to be more of an "end-game" job, where you mostly cruise around, not a main money making job. That's why the trucking jobs pay much better.

At this point I'll never see it. I can do one truck run that takes me 30 minutes and go up multiple levels from truck levels 50. I spent an hour doing patrols to get 50% of the exp left from level 4 to level 5. No way am I grinding out the amount of time it would take to get to the levels required to unlock all those police cars. It's so insanely slow. The addition of the new island making you have to drive 2-3 times further with no additional EXP bonus just sealed the deal.

No one's forcing you to do so.

Not very helpful.
OP got a Point. Every Job should be rewarding to some extent. But its obvious that some are by far more Grindy, waaay harder and less rewarding than others.

Trucking is by far the most easy and rewarding Job, which doesnt mean Trucking should be nerfed. But other Jobs should be buffed.
Why is Bus driving so incredible difficult due to the Time limit that gets less and less with every Round to the Point where its impossible to arrive in TIme.

Just like Police is just not rewarding and instead only crusing.

Same goes for Garbage Collector.

I get the Idea of Jobs working together to make more Money.

But it would be better if Jobs were rewarding and interesting from the get go and not only a way to improve trucking rewards even further.

Some Jobs really lack a reward that comes close to the effort it takes to do.

I'm just telling you all what the dev's idea was when he was designing the system.

This isn't about money rewards. It's about the exp. "end game" is completely irrelevant when you have to level each skill individually. It's not like you can use trucking to level up and then enjoy "end game" police vehicles. You have to start over. Almost every other vehicle system rewards "harder" jobs with more money/exp. Police does not. Also you can be 200m from your patrol checkpoint and a suspect spawns. And now you have to chase them down. You catch them, your patrol point changes to being even further away. So you now have to go even further to get that pathetic exp again.

The concept of every system working together is amazing. The problem is police specifically is absolute a slug of a grind that does not feel rewarding. It's also the only mechanic you lose exp in as well. And losing 20% of the exp you gain for a patrol upon a collision really sucks when AI is so bad at times you can't predict their stupidity.

Okay, fair Point.
And even tho i might have sounded agressive, i wasnt. So please dont get me wrong.

What i was trying to say, no matter whos idea it was, it might be a bad one. Going into the Game with a certain Path to Min Max the most and reduce tedious Grind isnt good by any means.
It should be more, whatever we do, should be Fun. And a part of having Fun is getting rewarded enough to not feel like you just get scammed by doing so, or even forced to do so.

Sorry if i might have sounded harsh or anything. Wasnt intended.
Just wanted to make the Point to make every Job equal Fun and rewarding so that everyone can do what they like most instead of what rewards you the most to get into something you might like. :)

Peace :BEheart:

The idea from the dev is that police level is an endgame thing to work on, but I understand you may not see it or want it to be that way.

One more complaint to add about arresting suspects. Not one have I ever arrested someone who willingly pulls over. I always have to chase them down and force them to stop. Yet I only get the "suspect refused to stop" bonus like 10% of the time and anytime I try using spike traps they do nothing. That part of the system also needs fixing. Every damn suspect refuses to stop. I love the police chase aspect. But something still wrong with the way it determines if a suspect is resisting arrest or not.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a suspect who willingly stops. Most people don't wanna be bothered and would rather drive faster to wherever they're going and try to outrun you out of spite at the same time lol. Even the AI suspects are programmed to just drive like crazy and fast

I get it, that's kind of my point... but then why don't you always get the bonus for a fleeing suspect and why don't spike strips work on all of them that are running?

Honestly not sure about the spike strips, maybe that's a bug. I know there's a multiplayer server that uses them, and I don't think I've seen any problems or complaints from them, but if you're on the Discord there's a channel for reporting bugs, would be great if you could get a video of it happening and share it, maybe the dev could fix it if it's a bug.
I got annoyed and stopped policing i never once chances a single suspect after a hour of driving around I went back to my lorrys

Same here, last time I did patrols (about 4 updates ago mind you) suspects popped up at a somewhat regular rate. I spent 2 hours one session and nothing.

The best cops are the ones afk-patrolling and thus improving town bonus.
The others are just annoying cop kids bullying other players.
