How do you get a house?

Just got the game today. Went to where the house icon is on the map, but there's just an open lot. Where do I go to get the house built?

There is no house right now, just a old dude waving his arms. there was an up date a few weeks back and the house disappeared. Devs are aware and are still updating area. I use the lot across the street to park some vehicles and when you have enough money you can build a "garage" on northeast side of island just west of another house icon (you can buy that house)

If you access the the test branch, the house returns and is much better. As such when this test branch patch goes live there have been many new and cool features and updated older ones.

Yes it has, and you can now move it about the block, so you can have it further from the main road if one desires.

Strangely enough, it hasn't for me. The plot of land at the initial spawn point is still empty.

I tried fully re-installing and created a new character, but the house is still missing. There's just an empty plot of land.

I'm on version 0.6.15 (Build 398) and the other stuff mentioned in the patch notes (such as Santa's house) are in my game, but I still can't see my starting house. Am I supposed to buy it somewhere?

It is strange that it is not there, but since it is missing. You can go to the blueprint vendor that is on the main road north west of the Olle Speedway and buy a small house blueprint for about $5000.

As per your suggestion, I managed to use the blueprint to place a house on the empty land, but unfortunately, the house is empty, and the furniture store across the street only sells a lamp and chair, but no bed. The only furniture store I know that sells a bed is on the north side of the island, and because I'm still new to the game, I have neither the level nor money to use a truck large enough to transport it.

I tried another clean install of the game, this time on a separate PC, and still the plot of land at the initial spawn point is empty - no house, no parking spot, nothing. Considering that the result was the same on 2 computers, I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one with this issue. Hopefully it'll get resolved soon.

That is strange indeed, one idea would be to use the games discord server and report the issue in the bug section.

Same problem here. No house with the latest patch. Maybe it was because I tried the demo first and purchased the game afterwards?
