How do you detach a trailer?

i dont see a button for it, and ive tried getting out and interacting with it, even after ive put the landing gear down, but nothing works.

You will have to be close to the trailer hitch and you should get an option to detach the trailer. Just move around until you get the option.

I had the same problem there was no button showing to detach the hitch. I gave up and the next day when I played, I rented a pickup attached a trailer and the detach hitch button was present so it was a glitch. So Try exiting and restarting the game it may solve the problem.

Another way, at least if you have the truck, just request your truck from a parking spot. It'd seperate it from the trailer automatically.

Look at the tow hitch on your vehicle (put your cursor on it) and the option should come up

incase it is a normal car, u put the landing gear down and look at the trailer tow bar,

if it is a truck, put down the landing gear down and where the trailer connects to the truck is a bar with some red handle on the end, use that one. incase it is needed i might be able to post a picture tomorrow.

On the outside of the truck, you will see a long rod poking out or a yellow handle close to the 5th wheel (The plate the semi trailer sits on)
Hit the USE key on this to disconnect the trailer.
