Maybe im just getting old or somthng
Sounds harsh but I agree. People should learn to build resilience. That's what hards games are for, that's what makes them fun, it also goes well with the themes and the dark fantasy subgenre (you know, just like horror games shouldn't be easy either). If people want easier games, they should play easier games. Easy doesn't mean bad either, I have like 300 hours in Stardew Valley for example, it's a great game.
Having difficulty options only encourages giving up and lowering the difficulty.
And to reply to op. This game is actually easy compared to games like HK, Blasphemous and other metroidvanias. Explore a lot, level up, enhance your secondary abilities. There's some specific abilities you can use that they basically beat the game with you doing basically nothing (the bird and the dog).
>I can't help but to be that guy.
Me neither. This game is just not that hard. I would highly recommend that OP vet your future Metroid-clone purchases and make sure they all have easy modes. There's a heck of a lot harder games in this genre than this one.
>Counterpoint: casual players could just stick to casual games
Quite true. Sadly, a LOT of people don't review games or read up on them before purchase. They see pretty graphics and purchase them blind and then they're on here complaining when the game isn't what they thought it was.
>I heard this game is easier than blasphemous, but to me, blasphemous was way easier, even after collecting as much health/items as possible in both of them.
I'd say this game and Blasphemous are about the same in terms of challenge. They're not easy games but they're all beatable with a few retries. Blasphemous has more challenge in terms of platforming while Ender Lilies has basically none.
I hope they would add them to this game too. But I don't know if the devs would want to go back and update the prequel or not after working hard on and releasing the sequel.
Well, almost none of the originals did that. Metroid doesn't and neither does Castlevania. I'm not sure why a "difficulty slider" would be considered a requirement for this genre.
>what harm can it do?
Maybe developers who spent countless hours designing these bosses don't want lazy kids easily plowing through them with bad strategy and low effort. Maybe they don't want these people playing their games and want a more cultured fanbase.
>so if you wanna flex those achivements go play Elden Ring or Dark Souls
So, in the end, you just want an optional part of the game nerfed so it's easier for you to get achievements? If you nerf the achievements, it kind of defeats the purpose. They're not really "achievements" anymore, are they?
>I hope they would add them to this game too. But I don't know if the devs would want to go back and update the prequel or not after working hard on and releasing the sequel.
I'd rather they work on patching or adding features to the sequel rather than going back and nerfing a game that isn't that hard for the very few extremely soft players who need every game to hold them by the hand. I'd rather these players just play easier games.
