And bosses in Hades or Devil Slayer - Raksasi would make your hands tired before you take down even half their HP.
So my guess is that you simply have not played enough of these 2D action games, Ender Lilies has quite a good difficulty slope already, there's no need to make it any easier.
Then that's truly weird, I don't consider myself a player with good reflex at all, bosses in Hades would be what I consider too spongy to like, and I did not even managed to beat the developer boss guy in Bloodstained(I was a bit too bored to keep trying then). I simply find Ender Lilies bosses pretty chill to fight against.
Maybe the game is just not a good fit for ya.
You are a flat out liar. The bosses have way too much HP right now. It isn't fun.
Also to note, I wouldn't compare the combat of dark souls compared to the combat of this game. Hell I wouldn't even compare this to dark souls, more to a games like hollow knight, bloodstain ritual of the night and blasphemous. These are your classic metroidvanias.
To most people metoidvanias are hard games. These 2D action games, in my opinion, are more difficult than any of the souls games. The bosses that come from these can be absolutely brutal to beginners and usual come with big health pools as well. Killing them can take upwards to 5-10 minutes.
Now to get this "I've beaten all the souls games" mentality out of your head.
...souls experience is not going to help you here. 2 entirely different games in terms of movement and combat. The "dodge" sometimes helps, but positioning is WAY better. You got more movement and space to work with, use it. Use "dodge" as a last resort, not as primary way avoid damage as the "dodge" has end lag.
You can just quit and come back to these games later. You need to have a certain mindset going into games like these (or for me, my first beating was from hollow knight). The mindset to be open and the want to learn. If you don't have this mindset, you are not going to have fun.
Summary for those who don't want to read:
-Stop playing it like it's a souls game. (Spoken from someone who has put way too much time into bloodborne, dark souls 1,2,3, demon's souls and sekiro)
-The HP is fine. Less would make the bosses too easy. 5-10 minute fights are normal for a metroidvania.
-Use your movement. The "Dodge" button is not your only way to avoid damage.
-A "Want to learn" mindset is good to have for your first metroidvania for a better time.
I've played a fair few metroidvania titles, and I cannot say at all that 5-10 minute fights are "normal" for the genre. Perhaps you're exaggerating for effect, or perhaps there really are some games out there that have super long boss fights — or maybe even in the spur of the moment I don't even realise that some of the fights are lasting so long because I'm enjoying them so much.
I think the only metroidvania fight that I've played recently that stretches out from 5-10 minutes is the Fatty bossfight in Haak, but the devs are looking into that because they've had feedback from a lot of people on how dull and long the fight is.
One thing I'll say about Ender Lilies, however, is that the Gerrod boss fight definitely feels too long. He almost feels like you're missing a weapon upgrade before fighting him, he's so spongy.
Yeah, her P3 switches het attack patterns from time to time and it can bite you in the ass :D
And, well, if you changed something in the file itself before uploading to the site, then in no case do not save the file. You just won't be able to load it in the game in the future.
Upd.
Just checked it out. For some reason, there is no longer variable difficulty. Interesting
Upd2.
Yes, everything works. The variable appears after killing the first boss. I don't know if DifficultyLevel affects the HP of bosses, but it definitely affects the damage.
Comparisons coming soon in a new discussion
The only time i died it's because of me being dumb and not read well the pattern, but at the second try i defeat them.
You will die and learn that the purpose of this type of video game in my opinion, don't need to be frustated if you do not first try a boss. I died in this game and it's ok i learn the pattern progress and defeat them after
