"bottom right between those two rooms" what u mean bro? is there a path/ a room between those 2 rooms, or there is path connected those 2 rooms ? can u show me the picture ?
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3281032644 This is where you need to go to get the swim ability. You can see in OP's map screenshot (for as long as imgur keeps it up) that she hadn't reached that area yet.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3281032887 You need to make this jump to get there. I tried this jump several times before and failed to make it so I wrote it off as a place where you needed another movement upgrade, but no, you just need to get optimal distance with a double jump and dodge. This room is to the right of the rest area OP was stuck at, and once you know about this jump you ought to be able to find the boss that unlocks the swim ability.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3281033131 Once you have the swim ability, this area unlocks a new way forward, and if I recall correctly that room itself is opened up with the falling smash move. This is where I stopped my game for now but I'm going to move forward under the hope that I don't get quite as stuck later on.
This combination of barriers is making it look like one of those games where there is exactly one path you can take but the game doesn't actually tell you where, compounding with the fact this is a metroidvania so you can see that there are other routes that you can't access yet either because "door does not open on this side" or because you need a power you haven't unlocked yet. I don't think I've ever felt so confused at having seemingly exhausted every possible path before. That jump really screwed me. Maybe I'm getting gamer dementia but I don't remember Hollow Knight being quite so restrictive at the start.
