Any tips for beaitng Ulv?
I got so far as the third stage of the fight but the shockwave spam and the X tracking attack just obliterates my health bar in seconds and there is little time to heal in between attacks at that point.

I've been using the dog and merchant crow summons and focusing on dodging, but eventually I'm not really capable of keeping track of all the incoming attacks, so any tips for beating this boss? Spirit setup maybe?

First, the X-attack is ground bound, and is pretty easy to dodge if you double-jump and dash when you see it coming.

He's fast, but he doesn't have that many variations to his moveset.

I used the Hamlet Elder and Dark Executioner:

i did all the boss with almost gerrod, upgrade order was him first then all the rest so im not sure but it was level 4 or 5 only and it was faster than umbral :p
than attack or spirit setup, dodging is more important so just watch the video above and try with the most upgraded one formation. all get good, at least i believe, if forged

Managed to beat him after knowing the X attack is ground based and some luck, swapped out my setup for the Gerrod instead and just smacked him when I got an opening, dodging the whole time and letting the summons do most of the work. Only stopping to hit when he got stunned. Thanks for the tips though.

Ulv X attack was a ground attack? I didn't even know. I actually had to pay attention to the timing of when he will cast it lol.

The dude tends to attack twice, and he fast af. I'd say catch him after the spinning slam attack. And if does that column attack, close as much distance as you can, try to fit yourself between them.

Bait his attacks, dodge into them, smash him with hammer. Rinse repeat for 2 rounds. Then just blast fireballs at him for the final round.

The X attack is a long-range attack. He will use it once guaranteed when he shifts to phase 2, but from there on you can stay relatively close to him and he won´t use it. I think he does try to get some distance between you and him sometimes specifically to use it, though, but that just telegraphs his intention to use it very clearly, and that should you give plenty of time to prepare a parry (standard or with headless defender/test subject).
