Stockade lance wall

In the room connected to the dark chamber respite.

The only place that gives enough speed is the hallway above it but you don't land on the platform you hit the water and the lance does not seem able to reach the wall. Is there something i'm missing here?

Dunno how it's intended but i did manage to hit it charging from the top after multiple attempts.

Visually it seemed like i hit it slightly below the platform for it to land.
