Excellent Metroidvania with great story, visuals, audio and combat which does not take long to complete.

First off: Ender Lilies is amazing. Can't wait for the sequel.
It sat on my wishlist for quite the while until i actually bought and played it. I'd say buy and play regardless of price.

so Pros
- lovely artwork, absolutely stunning
- the story and the way it is told is one of the best i have seen so far in any Metroidvania
- the music is basically the best i have heard in any game for a long time. it actually is the perfect counterpoint to some of the gameplay and makes the atmosphere of the very palpable throughout. The Boss themes are some of the best. all the while it's actually really simple and almost never has an annoying moment throughout the game 10/10 for sure
- Combat System is different from other games which makes it an interesting point at the beginning. Gathering the Spirits to get more moves under your (Combat as well as exploration) is an entertaining task and has you searchin the map from A to Z in a blink
- very fair an transparent map system. The map gives you information about how many unexplored exits you have in any given room as well as if you have cleared all collectibles in it. This makes backtracking easier than in many games because you can orientate yourself easily in the overview,
- lot's of savepoints, good fast travel system
- Exploration is fun, experimenting with skills to get to new points on the map is great pastime
- Good Bosses. Challenging, not completely awkward unbeatable, fair mechanics. Again awesome music. Every effing Soulslike clone could take notes here

Cons:
-Combat is sometimes a bit cluttered if you use a lot of spirit skills at once and the enemies use their own stuff. Died quite a lot cause i couldn't really see what was happening in the beginning. With time you learn to tune out the unimportant bits.
don't really know about the leveling system. It is in the game and you level all the time but i am not entirely sure what it actually does ;) probably increases your stats by margins.
- while you gain a plethora of skills, some are not as useful as others. i played quite a large part of the game with the same core, while exchanging 1 or two slots for stuff i thought was useful or i wanted to try. This means that probably you don't have a bazillion build options - or it simply doesn't matter thaaat much after a certain point in the progression.
- Some movement skills you get too late in my opinion. They unlock stuff which at that point you barely need anymore.


so summary: unless you hate Piano music and/or metroidvanias: go buy the game and give it a go, it is awesome.
Sidenote: this being neither pro nor con in my opinion: The game has 3 endings, all of which you can do in a single playthrough, due to it's map information it is relatively easy to 100% the map and all achievements.
I personally liked that a lot as for an only 18 hours playthrough i have seen basically everything in the game and also have 100% completion, making it feel pretty satisfying.
The game offers higher difficulty and NG+ at this point, but i am content with the one playthrough for now.

Visually beautiful and fun gameplay as you unlock new spirits, but very difficult.The white religious propaganda is annoying but pretty typical from a japanese game.
