Need to check it but I see that the graphic mode you linked was made for SF1.

It's building skins, they should be fine. Things like ground, foliage, buildings and sounds (ambience and effects) will likely work from SF1 to SF2. The things that won't are the things like uniforms and vehicle skins since the models have been upgraded.

Scenarios and campaigns should also work since it was part of the design brief in going from SF1 to SF2.

I would definitely recommend HQS Sound Ver 3.3. I have a vanilla testing version of the game for when I do my own mods and the difference in sound is very noticeable. See Steiner's link above. I like Vin's Geometric Icons and Mord's Portraits. All at The Few Good Men.

Steiner's first link is to Kieme's HD buildings - I highly recommend them: they are much more detailed than the stock ones and there are more of them. Note that although having lots of large mods increases loading time, I don't think it causes gameplay issues. I have just upgraded my old Win 7 32 bit machine, which managed the game perfectly well with oodles of mods, even though it was too low-spec to play many recent games.

Yeah a Workshop would be great for new players.

In the meantime go check out https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/ and https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/ for mods and custom scenarios. After downloading any mod it's usually as easy as copy pasting the scenario or campaign into their corresponding folders /scenarios/ and /campaign/ folders.

For general mods, textures and everything but scenarios and campaigns, simply go to Steam>SteamApps>common>Combat Mission Shock Force 2>Data ...and create a new folder and name it z. Then simple copy paste or extract the mod usually a .brz file into Z folder. If it's audio files or several texture files (usually bmp pictures) then go to mod tools and then rezpack folder, put the files into 'input' folder and run the rezpack exe. It should create a new .brz file which has automatically packed all the mod files into a neat package in the form of a .brz file. Rename it to whatever you want and put it in your Z folder. Done

Hope this helps any new players to discover some of the great mods out there.

Will the first two sound and graphics mods work in other variations as well? I have CMSF2 and also Black Sea. I can't think of a reason it wouldn't, just don't want to break anything.
