Why is the game stuck in Chinese in Asia only servers even though I downloaded it from the UK where I live?

My sister and I have been trying to play this game together for days but for some reason even though I got this from a Steam uk server it's always in chinese no matter what I do! Is there any way at all to change it into a language I understand and if so how? We've been wracking our brains and can't even figure out how this happened as it doesn't male any sense in any way/

Is there *any* way we can play this together or should I just give up?

I found a solution (at least it works for me).

The solution is: click setting in the SMC game in your library.
Then browse local files. File explorer window would appears and then open folder named "bin". Find an application (.exe file) named "client" and then double click to open (don't right click it and run as administrator as it will opened the simulator server of the game).

If the steps above don't work try install the game in the same drive as your steam application.
