Graphics have aged horribly and there isn't nearly as much freedom when it comes to building scenery and coasters. There is a lot of content though, and it is still fun if you can put up with the graphics and overly strict scenery placement restrictions. It is also to-date still the only game like this that incorporates both zoo elements and amusement park stuff in the same game. The pool stuff is fun to play around with as well.
I believe it is worth it, but it goes on sale relatively frequently too if you don't want to pay full price.
But if you have to decide between this and Planet Coaster, then better choose Planet Coaster. It's RCT3 (also from the same developers), but much better. After having completed RCT3 today, I will never touch it again. But Planet Coaster? Heck yes!
didn't annoy me too much or anything
i like how you can place your own music tracks into the RCT3 file and have it played on the rides, and then you can find parts of the funfair that has 2 or 3 tunes playing at the same time and use mouse and zoom to mix it
Of course it can't be compared to modern games like Planet Coaster, but it only costs a fraction of the price. In Planet Coaster you are much more free when it comes to building and the graphics are on completely different levels.
Especially when it comes to buildings and scenery, the game doesn't offer nearly as much. To me it seems more like building a funfair than an amusement park, because you are so limited in what you can do with the scenery. But i guess that depends on how you would describe an amusement park :D
But if you're looking for a relaxing game in which you can build a pretty nice park within a few hours, this game is a good choice in my opinion.
If you want/ expect a game like Planet Coaster with all its freedom and design options, this game will probably disappoint you.
But if you're just interested in building a park and just having a bit of relaxed playtime, I'd recommend this game.
And you shouldn't forget that you get 3 games in one. You can also build zoos or water parks with this version.
