Remastered Version!
Great job, Revolution! You are advertising this game with an image here on Steam that clearly represents the remastered iOS version from 2009.

Would it really have been so hard to talk to Apple to cancel the exclusivity? Why even let Dave Gibbons draw these new beautiful animated cutscenes when they are bound to one single platform for always and forever?

I would pay to play the remastered version of BASS on PC but nope... Why are you so ignorant?

Yeah. The store screenshots look different when compared to this version in game. I'm happy BASS is finally on Steam, though.

I REALLY wished this was the remastered version. I did play part of it on iOS but I would have rather had it on PC...

as this has complete ScummVm functionality, you can at least apply the filter you want to make it look "better" (I know, this depends on your opinion), see here:[wiki.scummvm.org]

I'll use
gfx_mode=Super2xSAI

just put the respective line into the file "BASS.ini"

Great to have the full series but yeah the remastered cutscenes and audio are something that I would gladly pay for

On the "remastered version", it is only the cutscenes that are remastered?

I can't remember all features but controls and inventory were better and there was something like a hint system.

Music, sounds and voices had higher quality and the game featured EFIGS subtitles and other languages.

Whats the difference between original and remaster version?
I played this version on Dosbox or ScummVM before it came to Steam. It looks fine to me.

Edit: Ah i see
https://youtu.be/SqfFsYpoFI0
- Moving cutscenes
- OST has been remixed to more modernized sound quality

But i honestly am glad i got the original and not a modernized version.
I dont mind modernized. But i prefer original just being how it was made when it was brand new.

But guess its subjective on my take there!

But whats the fun in playing a game if you are going to cheat? I think only time i did it was when i got really stuck "Looking at the goat in Broken Sword 1". Part of the challenge is find a way to solve the puzzle. Also i dont like the whole "blue UI that it has for showing where to click" feels it ruins the mystery of the gameplay, it helps too much is my problem. Subjective take but i dont like how the blue circles looks in those games either.. not my style.

But i do think the music in the remaster is kinda cool!

Although, checking some old versions of this game. Kinda interesting how much versions of this game there was. And music wise how it changes.

The only thing I would like added from the Remastered version, IIRC, is that they added a teaser at the end of the credits.

you are now aware that you are complaining about something that is free.

no more dusting off the amiga 500 and having to swap between the 15 disks everytime i enter a new screen

It is exactly like the Amiga version, this is how it is meant to look.

There is slight differences. The Audio is different, and the main text is different. Outside that its the same game. But DOS is solid so its not a big deal breaker!

(Think Amiga and Amiga CD is same versions though, one is floppy disks, the other is one game on one disc)

Better filter with OpenGL and better sound with Microsoft Midi Sample in stretchable window mode, smaller is sharper! Make your window as big as You like or go with Alt - Enter to Fullscreen !!

Everything in Amiga mode ... I liked it so much, nothing more is necessary!

  • Better Filter with OpenGL

  • Better Sound with Microsoft Midi Sample

  • Stretchable Window Mode, because Smaller is sharper!

  • Make Your window as big as You like or go with Alt + Enter to Fullscreen !!

  • Everything in Amiga mode ... I liked it so much, nothing more is necessary!

  • Easy to Do, only read Part: BASS.ini
