2. As for the code, I believe that this one helped me unlock it.

To note, the image on the wall and the code I used were entirely different. None of the symbols were the same on the wall nor what I used.

So apparently, that room I took a picture of, the door was locked. I had a feeling it was related to Alan but I couldn't get into it. At some point, I went back and was suddenly able to enter, find the small circle rug, and effectively, get the same passcode after unlocking about 3 bears. I don't actually know how or why I didn't have access to Alan's apartment prior and how I later got access after wandering around.
You need to defeat a certain boss to get the key to Dolly's apartment. The boss cannot be missed and is encountered shortly after you enter Allan's laboratory. The way back into the lab is temporarily locked, but you can go back as soon as you discover the next teleportation spring.
That one unlocks the PC in Allan's lab, left from the teleportation spring.
