by far the weakest game of the series
sad to say, but this game is nothing compared to previous parts.
stages are boring. everything looks secondary. there is no feeling that you are playing a new part.
i have got 3/4 of all towers, and most of them are useless. the four towers you are starting with are the best, with exception of artillery, which i immediately swapped to furnace. harrasers are also not bad. not as a replacement for orcs, but as a supporters. other towers are slower/do less damage/have less units (which is critical for blocking).
stages are not challenging at all on veteran difficulty. compared to "frontiers" it's like playing on easy.
the wonderful feeling of the previous "kingdom rush" games is gone.
maybe it will be better at the end, but now, after beating fifteen levels or so, i don't like the game.

The problem for many players is getting stuck in old games...

It's a new game, different things are always welcome, like this new tower system (which I particularly loved).
In my opinion, what I found difficult was just the frog stages, but with some heroes and towers that are much stronger compared to others, it is easy even in the impossible.

What I really miss are the endless modes in the PC versions, as it will be fun after completing all the achievements. :krmummy::krmap:

This new style was just an attempt to create ♥♥♥♥♥♥ system for mobile to make you buy lots of dlc. It didnt work out as planned, players gave harsh critic for that. If this was an actual new style, those towers would had been included for free on mobile, and extra heroes would had been optional as usual.

Seeing how those towers are hit and miss, and has balance issues, like that archer tower crow doing 1 to 2 dmg, wtf, very useful upgrade... Boomerang tower being downright useless, yet has very powerful bee hive attack. Only tower in previous KH games that was kinda questionable was the Sniper tower in the first game.

Stages are evidence as well, how the game suffers for having so many towers. Its because on mobile, you could try out your expensive towers you bought on different maps, and its very hard, if not impossible to design stages, so the dlc towers would seem like worth something, and gameplay still feel strategic and engaging.

Remember, this game was mobile only for long time.

Another reason why this game felt like a mess, compared to previous games, is that apparently some people left Ironhide, and the studio was already pretty small, so i guess that also affected the overall quality, because they had less people to work on the game.

I'm not saying you cant have fun playing this, but as someone who prefers to play these type of games on an ipad, and have played all previous games many, many times over the years, i find this game to be mediocre.

It's okay, i see ur point.

I have to agree with the OP. There's something very different, very dissimilar and very new about KRV. And not in a good way. It has somehow lost its sense of challenge and when I play on impossible mode it doesn't feel like a challenge from KR, KRF or KRO - its just too easy to see what the strategy is and beat it. And not only beat it but beat it and feel like I'm falling asleep from boredom.

Perhaps the guy or guys who made KR, KRF and KRO have retired or moved on and someone else has taken over at ironhide and this new guy just doesn't know how to make an "old" KR style challenge. They are tone deaf to real challenges and thus have no idea how to create one.

You saw Maginicia Shores Impossible and thought it was easy and boring?

If you use Eiskalt, then yes.

For me, this game is 50 on 50. Few achievements and some seem to be missing. New upgrades but less. And I have a feeling that the game is not well balanced. The green ray is very weak even to an easy level and completely upgraded. And I have a feeling that the only difficulty is that there is more than one way to guard. And a comparison with the other three games. You don't need the stars. Even to open challenging levels. Even on an easy level, the other three games were more difficult.

Haven't seen it on GOG yet , and i could buy it here but chances are 200% it will have some drm in it like having to play it with client, many games ask to start the client cause it is NOT running 24/7 on my PC.
Anyway i dont like DRM, and old securom and similar was a DRM but not really :lunar2019coolpig:

Before steam i had a lot of DRM problems myself.

But i have over 300 games now on steam and never had a problem with DRM anymore.
The steam client itself make no problems and dont collect any data.
The only thing that steam client collect are hardware information, but even then it ask you if you want to share them (every time).

So if you have problems with DRM or clients that collect (and sell) data about you simple install steam and all problems are gone.

If you think all the towers past the first four are useless, then its YOU thats the problem. The Ray tower is the best in the game for single target. And its the second to last tower you get!

I started a new campaign after beating it once and then you can start it on impossible. Win the campaign mission and then do the heroic and iron challenge right after before moving to the next campaign mission. Then the game at least have some challenge. Having access to all towers and upgrades unlike before, just makes everything too easy after finishing a campaign and then upping the difficulty.

The best towers are the first four? I changed the fire tower for the espectral one (the one that throws souls at the enemies and summon gargoyles) and since i did that change, the maps became easier. I am also playing in Veteran (first playthrough) and when I complete a map (with 3 or 2 stars) I replay them again, doing the other two challanges. You say is easy playing even in Veteran, but I think you farmed skill points (souls) doing the main campaign (not challanges) and then going back and completing those challanges. It's harder and more challanging to play the challanges without going further. I mean, as soon you complete a mission, do the other two challanges :) That's how I play. It make you use your brain and think about a good strategy. So not bored for me at all. Is EASY because YOU want. Put some rules / goals and the game will become harder

this game is so bad... There are 16 Campaign levels only!! and u need 23 to get final unlocked hero...
Game is allredy over when u unlock everything.. no new level nothing.. just same boring levels.
there should be 100 lvl or steam workshop.

this game is ripoff and worth max 4.9e

There are 25 Levels. The "main" campaign is over after 16, but after the "endcredits" you have 9 more level. 3 x 3 mini campaign with extra 3 endbosses.
