MORE TOWERS! LESS OPTIONS?!?!
On paper you'd think having all these new towers would be awesome, right? Well not exactly lol In the previous Kingdom Rush games you'd have the option of two different paths for each tower, but not in Kingdom Rush Vengeance. Towers don't have a split path anymore thus giving you LESS options in missions. You can take 5 towers into any mission but since there are no split paths anymore you actually have LESS tower options than you had in previous installments, despite you only being able to build four types of towers in each mission.

In Kingdom Rush games you effectively had 8 towers to choose from. You had the 4 base towers and each one had two paths which gave you very unique and interesting towers. In Kingdom Rush Vengeance you have 5 towers with no unique towers. So unlike other Kingdom Rush games you no longer have access to 8 towers, it's just 5 which no longer have any offshoots.

I appreciate all the new towers we got, and some of them are REALLY cool. Unfortunately you could give us 50 new towers but since we're only allowed to take 5 into missions it effectively doesn't matter. You're stuck with 5 towers in every mission where as Kingdom Rush Frontiers or Origins gave you 8 every mission. The game is great and I'll 100% it as usual but I'd prefer they let you take all the towers into a mission or go back to the old style.

Thats right. You have less specialization options during missions compared to the previous games.

you don't really have less options though. in the first game you are pretty much never going to build a musketeer or bertha, same with dwaarp and the axethrower tower in frontiers, and the druid tower and whatever the second mage tower was in origins. honestly i cant even remember what it was because it wasnt very useful.

How many combinations do you get?
KRV: SUM[k=0 to k=5] (18 choose k) = 12616
Others: 2^8 = 512

This doesn't mean that KRV has a better tower system. It just means it has more possible combinations for which towers can appear in a level which I think makes your claim about there being less options untrue.

It's possible in KRV to make some towers required and others banned to add replay value to the game, if you don't mind setting your own rules like that.

it's a shame some towers are clearly worse than others so you don't have any real incentive to try certain towers unless you're just screwing around. The blimp tower for example, WAY too expensive and not nearly strong enough. Boomerang tower also sucks. You say there's more combinations of towers but since you're rarely switching out your top 5 towers it doesn't take effect that much.
