Shader cache issue possibly causing hard crashing
Writing this up with cautious optimism as I near clearing caution finally from my 3rd LV1 ban from crashing. I think I found the source of my crashes and want to share incase anyone else runs into any issues. Over the last days Ive tried a few things that kept having no impact but seem to have finally found the issue, the Steam/Nvidia shader cashe seems to have been corrupted causing the random hard crashing . Ive done all troubleshooting one step at a time until a crash occurred to avoid not knowing what the actual fix was and clearing both caches seems to have finally fixed the problem. I restored my overclock, VBIOS, and reverted to Nvidia's 528 driver and have had no more issues.

Im not sure where the heck the game's shaders are stored but Steam's shader cashes and Nvidia's are easy enough to find and delete. For Steam, go to settings > shader pre-cashing and turn off shader pre-cashing. From there, use file explorer to go to Steam>SteamApps>ShaderCache and delete the files.

For Nvidia you'll need to go into the Nvidia control panel, set the shader cache size to disabled (for now) then restart your PC. After disabling the shader cache you'll go back to file explorer and go to your local app data (toss %LocalAppData% in the search) and go to the Nvidia folder and clear the files from "DXCache" and "GLCache". Don't delete these folders, delete the files in them. Now go back to Nvidia Control Panel and set your shader cache size back to whatever you normally have it at.

Fire the game back up and give it a sec to figure the shaders back out and it should be back to normal.

Played all day for the first time since launch where before I had it crash anywhere from in a lobby to during a supply drop. Hope this helps if anyone else is having crashing issues. Good luck to all of us on the network issues..... GOOD WORK OUT THERE!

Yo I remember your previous thread. You've dug pretty deeply into the issue, I woulda given up long before messing around with shader caches lol. Hopefully this solution helps other people.

I tried everything from reinstalling the game to turning off all my OC software and re-flashing my VBIOS back to stock and losing 25w over it trying to find the problem LOL. It is a super fun game and once I realized people were lagging out and not crashing I knew there had to be something on my end I was missing. Really hope this saves someone the headache I had.

Gave this a try. I'll see if it helps me in the long run or not.
I tried it to no avail with my issue, I'm crashing after sortie cutscene. Deleted steam shaders, and DX/GL folders contents, restarted and nada.
maybe try going into your amd/nvidia gpu drivers and add GBO2 to the custom settings and under that custom setting, go to your shader cache and select no cache

idk if it actually does anything :D

after new version of steam updated, they removed pre-cache shader from settings, no way to access it anymore
