The reality is this: On maps like Arctic base, all it takes to stop the enemy is to shift counter clockwise at the start and fire into the chokepoints. doing that is going to cause them to take damage and even freak out and gunk up their narrow areas of escape. Making them easier targets.
The other bit is when you factor suits like the TB acuygs, Pixies, Desert Gelgoog into the mix and HIDE as the enemy runs past you, coming out to pick off the guys at the back of the pack in a faster manner than the teammates who leisurely stroll around the outer most section of the map.
But no. People don't do that. They have bugman mentality and try to "get behind" or "get right side advantage" on enemies nad usually fail at this. Which isn't surprising considering even the ranking system in this game isn't a measure of your skill. just wholly if your team has won enough times or not to get you to that rank
Deal with it or uninstall
I've already pointed out shifting OPPOSITE of the standard rotation tactic. you get that dumb little "right hand advantage" while keeping cover and keeping the enemy in a chokepoint that forces them either back or forward into the gunfire.
It has never worked the few times I've managed to get my team to do this on artic base but maybe they weren't being accurate enough.
At 350, where TB Acguys can be a thing. from the start shift left behind the rectangular building past the walkway. wait till the last guy goes around and then swing at them. heavy attack if they dont see you. then unload into the next closest guy before retreating. you're going to cause massive damage to at least 2 suits.
At 550 or w/e the cost the Desert Gelgoog comes into play. instead of being braindead and charging your beam rifle. sturmfaust > Arm cannon > heavy swing > run
Unless they have an Eyezack or something to outright detect you (or the VERY VERY VERY RARE chance they go to the outer part of the circle) you're going to be passed over.
In non-stealth situations you're bound to die, but you can shift counter clockwise and if you can see healthbars. pre-fire towards the cluster of them. if they're on the ground you can usually wing 1-2 and inflict stagger. repositioning to either get CLOSER and putting the building in front of you to keep you out of line of sight for the guys up top. Or retreat and take a shot or 2 at the guys at the upper elevation (though it puts you at a disadvantage). If you want to be ballsy and there is only 1 or so dude up top. aim for the group on the ground and charge down the guy up top.
Tactics and target priority is NOT hard. the problem is 99% of this playerbase plays like they're braindead. if this game had MSGO's ranking system I can guarantee there would probably only be like 10 or so S- ranked players in this game.
Problem resolved
Wait, there is someone else in this gatcha who understands that the most fun in Arctic Base is to find some high ground and shower the enemy with Guntank fire!?
Maybe dig in with "the slow one" instead of leaving it behind to die? or using your speed to keep the enemy distracted by looking like the bigger threat. You come across as someone who lets the enemy shoot them in the back because there is a low HP enemy on the other side of the map.
The truly stupid in this game will say ♥♥♥♥ like you did and never once stop to think.
