why I havent seen more GM guard customs is beyond me
In lower ranks I think it shines more, but man a 20k shield holds up reaaaally well against 3 suits in melee.

It's especially good in the hallway map in space.

It's an amazing unit but Zeon kinda rules at that cost is a reason it's often overlooked. Zaku Flipper appeals to the shoot from behind allies crowd (that can't really be blamed when generals like Zaku Stutzer and Marine Gundam own this cost) and Efreet Nacht has a heavy stagger that most raids even several costs up don't have. GM Guard Custom works better than them on the front line with generals but it's quite a bit more team reliant too since it doesn't have any of it's own instant stuns. That means you'll be relying on teammates to save you if you're getting charged and can't really save your allies outside of downswings and countertackles. But it can very well get away with carrying as a meme pick if the enemy has no idea has no experience shooting around it

Its big shield is literally a double-edged sword, where it greatly covers the unit from enemy attacks, but it also makes it an easy target, especially for shotgun users like the Efreet/Efreet DS.

TBH, the Guard Custom is better used in space maps, because it got space terrain compatibility, AMBAC lv2 skill, and there's no shotgun users on space, so it's definitely less threatening.

Lastly, most people doesn't seems to understand how to play the Guard Custom properly, where they always stayed in mid-range + spamming its Shield Gatling, before they get chain-stunned to death by the enemy, instead of playing aggresively by going forward and using its godlike Beam Gun + vulcans combo...

Since build stunners and staggers just hit the shield and take stuns anyway

I can see someone staggering but that means they still hitting the shield. Something feels off about hit boxes with it. It feels almost like hacking with how much damage the shield absorbs. I do admit I like using the shield Gatling but Im not a ♥♥♥♥♥ about it, Ill spray and pray while breathing on them lol.

One thing I do like about the suit is that it gives me time to watch other players and see how they react. Simple chads enjoying the adrenaline rush of it and then you have players that actually act like a mobile suit pilot. Bazooka shot dash back use some beams find cover use another weapon rush in melee for a bit. Enjoying the suit and having fun with its strengths. While you can spam and use meta cheese tactics like insane melee combo's or perma stagger someone ive always found that play style distasteful.

there are just units that offer more stagger control at the same cost since staggering your opponent drops their dps to 0 for a few seconds and prevents them from hitting your ally it's far more useful and powerful to be able to disrupt.

Flipper can flank and launch attacks at a support before the enemy can get turned onto it and the nacht and swing down multiple enemies when it gets it's own flank off

thats just 300-350 and if you want brawling raids the zaku alma steiner has both a shotgun and arm missiles for build stagger and a zook to insta as well as a 2 hit downswing albeit far squishier and then the DS for ultimate brawling capability as well

any experienced player that deals with a guard custom knows how to aim their downswing to hit the MS without hitting the shield anyhow
