Yes, they added battle simulator mode at some point. Trial, Survival, and Boss fights.

Do these modes give rewards like multiplayer?

The Battle Simulator runs three missions each with three conditions that, when met, do give one time rewards. Generally equippable customization parts, QP (the free currency), tokens for the gacha, or sometimes even outright mobile suits. The battle simulator does not get cycled very often, so once you've cleared it you're done for the next 3-6 months until a major event hits.

So effectively no. Its Enlisted, Heroes and Generals, WoWs all over again - promote the mode, then punish people for exclusively playing that (by having essentially zero progression).

The whole mode seems pretty pointless then, unless they have plans for allowing players to actually participate in historical scenarios like the Battle of Loum, Solomon, or A Baoa Qu...

Ah geez its three to six months for an update on the simulator? Dang. The missions in that were extremely fun.

yeah its sad really. I wish they update it more. Its fun to fight against mobile armors. The past bosses were Psycho Gundam, Psycho Gundam MK 2, Queen Mansa (original colors, and in space), and Alpha Aziel. Hope they re-release these for PC too so everyone gets to experience them. Also hoping in the future they'll have us fight against Big Zam, Dendrobium or Neue Ziel (better if there's a fleet battle going on)

I think it doesn't have to be boss fights. Just fighting against swarms/waves of enemies would be fun to in co-op, or protecting the base, etc, something like that you can find in SDGO.

This, all of this.

A fleshed out survival mode is a no-brainer at this point. Even if matchmaking is busted, it's something we can at the veryleast still access in the meantime. Just give it a rudimentary reward system for however many waves survived, or just have it be a set of ten with maybe a random boss thrown in after every fifth one.
