as a newbie myself, it is hard for me to get a win unless my rival gets crushed by better player from my side.
Rated/casual/clan match
Brawls do not give rivals
Invidiual score - overall points scored in match
Damage - as long as your not dealing 0 dmg or on environmental object/bases which count as 0
Assist - passive kills(inflict heavy dmg let Allie kill)
Pursuit score - flinching/staggering/interpreting a enemy engaged with a allie
Meele swinging, constant fire bazooka shots
Think a icon will flash so you'll know you earned it
Damage and pursuit score normally win out
You can always get out rivaled in top individual sometimes
Getting banged around or wasting time in a match you normally be wanting to do something
Heck you can lose a match, but as long as you did better than that player, you still get similar rewards to a win.
Then again getting a higher rating also makes winning or losing even less relevant as it is more the bonuses gained from winning and beating your rival.
Won't matter to me, since I'll be rank capped by lack of ability. But there's going to be people that end up going from (say) C- back down to D+ trying to get rival wins.
At least you don't have to win the match to beat your rival as far as I can tell.
