Just a friendly advisory for those who like privacy. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 are google DNS servers.
Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 or 1.1.1.2 is also good btw.
DNS is a lookup tool for translating web domain names into IP addresses. It's like an internet phone book, where you look up a business name to find a phone number to call.
The DNS servers and services are not responsible for the stability of your connection. They're responsible for telling you where to connect to in cases where a domain name is involved.
I wasn't sure as well at first but after trying it (out of desperation) it worked
Try it and believe! It's a quick simple step to change your DNS in Control panel. Something basic as this is most of the time gamers and even tech support neglects.
Enjoy gaming! And heck Bandai Namco, optimize your stuff guys!
1. Trying it would prove nothing. I've never disconnected from a match.
2. Correlation and causation are not the same thing. Just because you've manged to play matches after changing DNS servers does not mean the change in DNS had anything to do with that.
We know Bandai Namco s*** on how they launch the game right?
We found a workaround thanks to dotVeskan and since people are ignoring his post because of a rant title style approach, I just re-posted a simple thing.
"yo guys, change your DNS to something like google or cloudflare; it works 8/10 or even 9/10 times."
Actually, I never got a ban message this time I changed my DNS; before I was getting them. The only disconnect issue I had been getting after changing the DNS was when you go to sortie, it just kicks you out without any error. So that's still faster than the failed matchmaking / sortie or the ban thing.
You have a good day. Again, nothing to argue about here and I'm sharing a simple quick fix we can do on our end which HELPS at least on this game and as we know some other games BEFORE. :)
If your ISP's DNS servers are slow translating (most cache popular addresses) then yes it can help as google DNS servers are 1 of the fastest out there. I however do not want to use google DNS servers for reasons that are my own and I'm not here to tell anyone to do it or not do it. A slower translation from a DNS server can actually cause a disconnect esp. if the game code is not exactly top notch.
