Same thing that always happens. Entitlement doesn't get satisfaction immediately = negative review.
Celkat May 31, 2023 @ 12:05pm
half of the negative reviews are from morons attempting to login during maintenance down time without even reading the notice
Assassinninja May 31, 2023 @ 12:14pm
People getting mad about a tutorial that takes like 10 minutes and servers have had trouble on launch

Nah. I get frustration. It shouldsn't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself like this, but it is. We've had bursts of being able to play, followed by massive lengths where rated (so far from testing) seems to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself

The major issue is a 5 year old game, launching a port with servers that are nigh on non-functional. Which devolves into a bunch of people arguing to give the game a break because its "free to play" and because it's "day 1" even though its not even close to day 1. Being day 1 wasn't even an excuse in the 90s, so no idea why people think thats even a defense, and free to play/start is 0 excuse either, especially when they're still making money off of it. The real issue here isn't just the fact that the game doesn't work properly, it still is taking money from people, and banning people for disconnects and such as though it were working properly. Top that off with a bunch of fan boys trying furiously to defend the game to laughable extremes, and can't understand why anyone could be justifiably upset at the current state this "launch" is in, and you get what this topic is about to turn in to. I bet valve *really* hates bandai right now, due to all the disrespect, flaming, and other reports they're getting just from this game's discussion area today.

imagine spending more time being mad at a free video game rather than playing said video game, maybe you're better off going outside and touching grass lmfao.

People actually played the game and realized it's an extremely lazy port full of p2w monetization. It also makes you agree to essentially allow them to sell your info from installing the game. Meaning even if you DL it to just try it like I did. They make money.

Scumbag dev/publisher and terrible game.

Imagine having broken servers for a niche game like GBO2, porting it over with a clunky control scheme that PC gamers aren't used to, and then calling gamers "entitled" for actually expecting to play the game lmao what

Most people negatively rate the game because they can't play. So harder to spend time playing the game when it's not working 90% of the time. Look at most discussion talking about "failed matchmaking". While the game worked fine the first 2 hours.

Servers broke and constant maintenance. You'd think things would've improved after the last network test, which "worked" but just barely. Instead its has just as many issues as the network tests.

Yes, because people complaining about not only being unable to play, but also being banned for not being able to play is just entitled whining. Ever since the first network test, there have always been people calling anyone who complains about the unacceptable state of the servers "entitled", as if expecting to be able to play a game is some kind of unreasonable demand. I'm honestly not sure whether these people haven't actually played the game, or if they just get off on being condescending ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The game itself is pretty good, so I can see why it was popular enough on console for them to port over years later. It feels so good being able to pilot a mech and having it feel like a mech. It's basically like MechWarrior in that regard. With that said, servers are garbage, and performance is extremely mixed for people. Thankfully performance is just fine within matches for me, but that's assuming I can actually get into a match to begin with. The network test had over 10k players, yet launch servers can only handle 10k-15k? That makes no sense. They should have implemented servers that could handle 20k at the very least. Sure enough, we hit over 25k already. There would have probably been far more if people could actually play.
