When you want the game to do good, but it's not looking good
I know folks are like me in that we WANT this game to do well. It's a blast, when it works.

However, failing to matchmake 5 times in a row consistently, reading all the negative reviews, and knowing that a newer and much more highly anticipated mech game is around the corner (Armored Core), really makes you second guess as to whether you want to spend money in this game and fully get invested.

For the folks who have been with this game since PS4, do you have faith that the devs will fix all the network issues eventually? Or is this likely to just die out and we'll all just jump ship when armored core arrives eventually or sooner?

80-90% of the network issues are on users sides. There's not a ton that Bandai can fix, people need to just stop being stupid and realize in Peer-2-Peer games, you need to port forward, open your NAT up, etc. Very few PS4 players are actually having the issues a lot of people are, and we're going to be sticking around on this game for a very long time. There's a reason GBO/GBO2 has survived for over 12 years now and will continue to do so.

People can jump ship or review bomb all they want...Actual Gundam fans will be staying for the long haul anyway.

aren't the matchmaker and p2p issues seperate tho, imo the matchmaker still fails even if *your* connection is fine

i'm struggling to get games going sometimes, it takes like 1minute to load up a game and then sometimes it takes like 30 minutes or an hour

That'd go under the "10-20% of issues that aren't on players" ... Though it's still based on the fact that other players connections to you may be ♥♥♥♥♥.

Matchmaker chooses the host with the highest connection quality and the lowest packet loss in a "burst" send - whichever returns best gets hosting quality. Unfortunately this isn't the most reliable way, because just because at that moment your connection is good, doesn't mean it's STABLE That way. That's why occasionally you get games where the quality goes way down and it lags behind a good 10-20 seconds -- EG, shoot someone, no damage, etc, but later on it all hits all at once.

It still gets updates every week on Playstation lmao, and that has been a fact since it's initial release on the PS4.

Instead of making flippant remarks and telling people to "stop being stupid", why don't you start by explaining how to port forward, open NAT and your etc is. That is if you even know your stuff.

p2p is archaic by modern standards. The average pc gamer is not gonna know what the ♥♥♥♥ to do. You think yourself a Gundam fan then the least you can do is help others stay in the game. That is once again of course, you're not just making empty talk.

Nah. Lots of games with P2P connections don't have these kinds of problems. How they handle the connection process, and the fact that they just abort instead of trying again is a huge part of the problem. If it just took a bit longer to find a group, people wouldn't complain as much, but the fact that it boots you out the second it has any difficulty, forcing people to retry over and over is what people complain about, and that's 100% on Bamco, not the players.

Here we go, yet another imbecile shill trying to blame the playerbase and not the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company.

But he is correct in that a lot of the issues in this game do stem from connection issues not wholly pertaining to the login or mm servers, people need to check their ping to regions overseas just to see how badly it can get
