You'd have to type /mine to execute the skill, and it wasn't just till your inventory was full. instead you'd have to retype the command after every attempt. The other thing is players had a hard combined skill level cap so you really couldn't make a round robin account as it would gimp your ability to pilot stuff.
You should give it a try, if not for the novelty. The fun thing is the worldspace is MASSIVE. its a literal scale model of Australia. While you can fast travel between locations, you can also walk from place to place. Though even in an MS, a cross walk map can take like an hour or two of real time. Did it once to stamp on feddie players mining. Ended up getting cornered and destroyed by some fighters and a few feddie MS
