I can't even properly describe them without googling stuff.
I don't understand why a fringe population is paying large amounts for things that serve no apparent purpose besides harvesting personal data.
Explain it in a way a child can understand, using no acronyms.
I was too dumb to understand why bottled water would sell, but it took off like wildfire and some people got rich from it. I just have doubt in things that make no sense to me. Every attempt at explanation just leaves me confused.
If the argument is "convenience" but it doesn't actually make anything more convenient, I don't know what to think.
My best guess is that our base need to form social groups is being exploited here.
NFT's are a scam, end of story.
You can engage in wishful thinking, but it's still a scam.
It's effectively the art trade, but digitized.
You know what that's known for? Scams, money laundering, fakes & forgeries etc.
That's what NFT's are and nobody will ever step up to regulate them because it would mean an absolutely massive crash in value for the ones that are even worth anything, just like the art trade.
Oh it’s also harmful as ♥♥♥♥ to the environment because of the ridiculous amount energy required to turn these things into NFTs.
Tl;dr: Scam
Edit: Forgot to mention how most of the NFTs are stolen from artists who did not give permission for them to be used + don’t even receive a penny from the sale of stolen images.
So, we received some free NFTs in SBB (didn't claim any, before you start foaming at the mouth).
Are you saying that in this case, the artists didn't give permission to use their art? Or are you just generalizing?
Regarding the environment, we should start with regulating the big things, like fossil fuel use and the car industry, switching electricity production to renewable sources, decreasing the release of CO2 in the atmosphere. Electricity is used everywhere, and it's not the use but the methods of production that are the main problem.
Yes, there are a lot of big changes that have to happen to help the environment, but there are also things that we do everyday that can make a difference. Saying the absolute worst offenders have to be tackled first is whataboutism and a convenient way of delaying action on other things that are very actionable. We all make choices day to day that help or hinder the process.
The entire platform is against the use of NFTs in games.
Considering this game's only platform seems to be Steam, I'm truly confused by their choice to do something like this. They must think their whole playerbase will immediately flock to whatever platform they settle on after Steam removes them from the store.

The goal of NFT boosters is to convince you this receipt has value such that they can profit from your ignorance by selling you this receipt and leave you holding the bag when the scam collapses. Stay far, far away from any "game" that relies on NFTs for their monetization scheme.
