How to level up my Dark Fog farm?
Basic question. I set up a Dark Fog farm on an infected planet and its just slow.
Granted i did start the game with Dark Fog greatly toned down so that i could get a feel for it first, but even after changing their behaviour to "sharp" on the communicator it still is slow... The planet also only has 4 relays and the Hive refuses to set up more.
It seems to favour the other planet int this system. Do i have to clear the first planet just to make my farm planet more attractive? And how can i speed up their base leveling for the better loot?

Each hive can only support about a dozen relays, although that probably increases with difficulty and maybe with hive level. So yes, if it already has a bunch of relays on some other planet, it's not going to send more to the one you prefer.

If you place sufficient shield gens on the other planet, and then clear it, no more relays can land there and they will all go elsewhere. If you want to level DF up faster, kill the relays in orbit before taking out the planet-side bases.

Yeah i've done that with the second planet. What i find odd is that my farm is now the only planet of two in the system still having bases and yet the hive is just sitting there idling, not even sending any barges to the bases, nor any new relays, theyre also just sitting on the hive....?
And the Hive size is decent (not max, but also not a fresh hive). Does the fog have favourite planets? My farm is on a Cyclonius planet, if that means anything.

Are you letting the hive get some resources? Leave at least one planet-side base alone, because ones which are always fighting will use up the resources being extracted to make more ground units.

Otherwise, it seems to take several hours before the hive can build a new relay station.

The hive just keeps sending relays to the shielded planet and they keep making pointless back and forth trips... I feel like I picked a particulary lazy and special hive...

Well there are still the four bases (with relays) on my farm planet. I did however kite enemy units towards my defenses to make them level up faster in hopes to get the hive kicking.
I suppose i'll let them chill and collect now.
Is there a file for the dark fog values that i can edit to make it collect resources faster and such?

Sounds like you "wave farm" which is very slow. You should build your defense close to a base and place a signal tower next to it. The tower range should nearly touch the outer part of the base. Doing this will make the base go into overdrive mode. You should get like 900 kills/min per base (check the drop filter tooltip). Additional use 1 or 2 Implosion Cannons combined with many lasers. The high damage and area effect of them will level the base much faster.

Hi
i've tried a lot of method to level them up and yours is the best one by far
Thanks a lot ! :)
having them continous spawn but having a signal tower aggro and pull them into a gun line will lvl them up quick, if you can get a fog building in gun range so your always hitting the base itself (they rebuild in range again) they lvl faster. i find its best to do this with implosion splash dmg - i use lvl 1 shells for the push back and lazers for the gun line
