Double tapping space works and i can hold space and W to go up high around the planet. Nothing more. It's the second planet i am stuck on so i know flying since i got all the way to the second planet. The issue is leaving this second planet.
It's like ICARUS is slowed by something and can't get to the speed necessary to leave the planet and go to space.
I don't know. Maby i just restart without the mist, it's way too aggressive anyways
Hold space, hold W, point the camera towards the sky. The camera will fight you and bay and buckle like a mad rodeo bull. Stay the course, hold W and shift after hitting orbit, and don't let go until you've reached deep space.
Also, important: when in space mode, your cursor determines which way your mech is gonna go. Ie, if you're trying to head straight to a planet but the cursor is pointing to an upward point 'above' said planet, it'll fly you above the planet if you don't course correct on the way - so ALWAYS aim it straight at where you're going, at every second in-flight.
If you target a planet or star and get the bias, yaw and pitch down to as close to 0 as possible and then don't touch the controls, you'll either hit it or get very close to.
Of course that only matters after you've managed to get out of normal flight and into sail mode
On the "borderline" between planetary and space flight the camera will buck and sway and try to push you back into the planet - RESIST IT and keep the camera pointing UP - away from the planet - and hold your W and Space (or whichever buttons you've bound to jump and forward) until the camera stops resisting you, then adjust your trajectory as needed.
Also: Shift to go faster, S to slow down, hold W to make Icarus turn towards the center of the screen (let go and you can look around while Icarus maintains course) and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY FUEL IN RESERVE!!! (<- ask me how I know...)
